Girl, I hear ya! I could NOT resist (nor could I figure out where the R rating came from, when I have so many rated PG American films that are so offensive–I just knew nothing trashy could come out of Bollywood!) And Jai Ho? You can bet that’s our new family dance!!!! I must have watched the end credits five time the first night (yes, we have a copy of the film). Come on over and boogie with us!
I LOVED everything about this movie. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. It made me nostalgic. And it reminded me why I was tempted to steal me a baby or two off the streets when I was in India. I may do that someday. Those children are just too adorable. And the soundtrack was awesome!!! Some directors go all the way up to the line as far as they can to push the ratings. This movie was just telling the story. And you’re right about Bollywood. They have way better standards than Hollywood. Sigh… I don’t think a lot of best picture movies have what it takes to leave an enduring impression. This one did.
